Birthday Card

Today I had a haircut appointment and since my stylist's birthday is this upcoming Saturday, I got this novel idea to make her a card.  I used to make and swap cards all of the time, but kinda got away from that when I discovered ATCs.

Do you like?  It looses a little in the scan since the main card was a cream color.

Free Theme ATCs

This swap is a 3/3.  You could use any medium, any style, any theme. Always fun. These are the cards I made and will be put into the postal system this evening on their way to Spokane, WA.

Bird on a Wire

Where do all of these birds come from????

Green Pepper Harvest

BEFORE

Lots of peppers to chop and freeze.  Most of them are small, but may be able to find a few nice ones for stuffing.

Latest Swap

This swap is 4/4.  The theme was incorporating book pages somehow in your ATCs.  So i used the pages as a background and then stamped and built the card from there.  Now I will have to wait for my returns.  These cards are being put into the mail tomorrow morning on their way to Gastonia, NC.  (The scan is not real clear, that is because the embellishments added just a tad too much depth).

Prayer Plant

Sooooooooooo at the beginning of spring I completely cut down this prayer plant because it was getting lanky and drying out.  After spending the entire summer out of doors, just like new.  Not sure why this happens, but I like it.  I also put my poinsettia out there and will have to post a pic of that in the future.  It is simply beautiful.

Recycling Millersburg Style

I always thought when you go to recycle, you are getting rid of your newspaper, cardboard, plastics, etc.  Well when you recycle in Millersburg, the people are there to take stuff.  I drove up and firstly, the place was a mess.  All of the cardboard was overflowing. as was the newspaper.  So I just added my stuff to the mess.  Then I noticed an older gentlemen going through the cardboard boxes and filling up the back of his pickup.  Really, really!

We will send everyone a blank puzzle and your mission is to create a summer beach scene and mail the completed puzzle back to Art42. Due date: October 10
Theme: Beach
Orientation: Horizontal

This is my beach scene.  Can hardly wait to see what I get in return.  Not quite sure how this will work.

Jennelle's Creativity

Jennelle got me this cool vase for my birthday and and when she visited on Sunday, she toured my flower beds and chose just the right clippings to put into it.  Really does look nice.

After a Week of Rain

Jam received after two people worked on it.
When I was done, it looked like this.  I added all of the gold and as you can see the stamped words "rain" and "wind" and also busied up the background.  It is always fun to finish up a card.

JAM - Just Add More

Jam Before - One artist worked on it.
Jam After
I added a stamped image and jazzed it up just a bit with some gold accents.  It will now be finished by the third artist.

Inchie Swap

What is an Inchie?

It’s a 1x1 inch piece of artwork.  As long as it’s an inch squared, you can use any media you like to make it, paper, fabric, wood, metal…the list goes on! A favorite seems to be the collaged inchie, with a combination of words and images making up the artwork.  Heavy watercolor paper works perfectly for making inchies, but if you like to recycle you could use a cereal packet or other similar packaging, or even a postcard. You can make up a set of inchies to keep for yourself, or you can start to trade them in swaps the same as you would for ATCs.  Inchies are fun and completely addictive!

Now that you know what an inchie is, I wanted to share the five (5) I made for a swap.

Since there is a little depth on these guys, the scans are a little out of focus.  Can't do anything about that.

These are the returns from the Inchie Swap.  Really, really nice.  Two of them even came in their own little envie.  So cute!  I am a very happy girl.
